"BOOT AH LAWRGE MAYJESTWAK BURD." Minnie yelled, flinging her arms around herself wildly.
"I feel like I'm coaching Lina Lamont..." Kelsey sighed to herself, letting her head fall in her hands. Andre had been looking around for someone to help Minnie with acting, and the new girl was the only person who actually had enough time to do it. They had been working on the bird scene for what seemed like an eternity, it was the wright of passage for any new student at HA. Kelsey had worked on it herself for a little while and since Minnie had never actually been in a play in her three years at the school she also had to preform it for Sikowitz before she could audition for a show.
"And I CAAAAN'T stan 'im!" Minnie said, sticking her hands on her hips and impersonating Lina Lamont from "Singin' in the Rain", "I didn't think any other teenagers even knew about that movie!" she exclaimed excitedly.
"Yeah, it's one of my favorites..." Kelsey replied while rubbing her eyes. She was happy she had something in common with the girl but working with her for so long was beginning to be more of a strain that she thought it would be. Minnie looked at her and suddenly her eyes grew wide with realization.
"Oh no..." the Indian girl said, gasping "I'm not that bad, am I?! OHHHH!" Minnie threw her hands down and flopped into the nearest chair. Kelsey didn't really want to lie, so she just kept her mouth closed and gave her an a apologetic look. She had to think of a way to help Minnie, because so far nothing was working.
"Ok, lets try something else. We've been running the same scene for over an hour..." Kelsey started, not really knowing where she was going. Then, out of the blue, something came to her, her eyes lit up when she said "So how well do you know 'Singin' in the Rain'?" ------------------------------------------------
"Moses supposes his toeses are roses, but Moses supposes erroneously. Because Moses he knowses his toeses aren't roses, as Moses supposes his toeses to be!" Minnie recited quickly with a perfect thick southern accent. Kelsey couldn't help but make a little smirk as Minnie engulfed her in a huge bear hug.
"I can't believe I got it!"
"I can't believe you got it! I'm so glad we got that part down. We'll work on it more tomorrow, once you get memorized it should be good." Kelsey told her, now with a full fledged grin. Minnie gleamed wildly back at her, she hadn't felt this accomplished since she mastered her center-splits. ------------------------------------------ "I thought you were an artist though, Kelsey" Minnie said in a questioning tone before taking a sip of her pink smoothie. After working non-stop for three hours on one piece they both needed some well-earned recreational time.
"Yeah, but because a lot of people do a little of everything, when you're here for art you have to be an art/dance, art/music, or art/acting major. Dancing, acting, singing, and playing an instrument can all go together so easily, so we're kind of off to the side, they just want us to be as involved as we can." Kelsey responded, after sipping her orange smoothie. They had been talking for a while now and ended up having a lot in common. Kelsey couldn't even remember a time when she had talked to someone her age for this long, or when it was this entertaining. They both had the same sense of humor and Minnie was extremely nice to her and so easy to talk to, maybe she could over-look the tuna thing.
"Eww, orange..." a girl with dark curly hair muttered under her breath as she walked by their table.
"Hates the color orange..." Sinjin said quickly, scribbling in a small notebook, right on the girl's heels.
"Ohhh Sinjin, you can't really hate him, you just kind of have to deal with his creepiness. You'll experience it soon enough." Minnie told Kelsey, raising her eyebrows in a knowing way.
"His hair looks like Ramen..." Kelsey said looking after the boy, making Minnie chuckle.

((I edited your post, G. Kelsey isn't at ALL giddy or girly. She's pretty neutral.))
"And apparently, my question rang true, and for that afternoon, the bird left.... And so went my spirit." Minnie ended dramatically the last rehearsal she had before class the following day.
Kelsey clapped enthusiastically for the dancer as she finished her monologue perfectly.
"You're not so bad, are you?" The blonde teased with a gleam in her deep blue eyes. The two girls smiled sweetly at one another.
"Thanks, again!" Minnie exclaimed engulfing Kelsey in an awkward hug.
"Noooo problem." Kelsey sighed, gently pushing Minnie off of her. "See you tomorrow!" She waved, tossing her worn leather bag over her shoulder.
"Later!" ------ Sikowitz jumped when his classroom door swung open after school the next day.
"You made me spill my coconut milk!" He cried, staring at the mess in sadness.
"I'm SO sorry!" Minnie pleaded; but he only shrugged it off.
"It's fine," He reassured her. "I've had enough for one day." The middle-aged man stood up from his plastic seat and placed his dirty hands on his waist. "So, who wants to go first?"
Minnie and Kelsey looked to each other and nodded. Silently they agreed...
"I will." Kelsey said boldly, stepping up onto the stage and unloading her props. She was already dressed for the part. She had on an old pair of high wasted khaki pants, a powder blue polo, small framed glasses, and a large white knit scarf she wrapped around her shoulders.
"Whenever you're ready..." Sikowitz suggested. Kelsey nodded and began her scene.
"It was 1934 when my husband left me, alone." Kelsey had seated herself in a wooden rocking chair. Her body looked tiny and fragile as she sat with the shawl tight around herself. "Life on the prairie was a dreary existence. No telephone..." She drifted dreamily. "No radio." she looked down to the floor and smiled at her red slip-ons. "Only a large, majestic bird with whom I shared my feelings. One day, when I was feeling alone, I said to him, 'Oh, bird. You can fly! You can soar miles from this lonely place, yet you stay. Why?' And apparently, my question rang true, and for that afternoon...the bird left." Kelsey's attention locked on the open window. She sighed deeply and closed her eyes. "And so went my spirit."
The room was silent for a minute. A whimper escaped from Minnie, seated in a chair in the back of the room. Kelsey was very convincing and, emotional, in her monologue.
"That was... Interesting." Skiowitz mumbled, scribbling on his clipboard.
Kelsey piped up, "I know it was probably a lot different from others, but it was really my own take. See, I wanted to take it from the perspective of a much, much older woman. Near death, really. Finally opening up about how she felt about her life not only to the listener, but to herself."
"Wow." Was all Sikowitz could gather in response.
"Acting is art, isn't it?"
"Exactly! Congratulations Miss Donovan! That was excellent." Her teacher praised.
She smiled shyly and looked to Minnie in the corner. "I've gotta go, but break a leg!"

((You didn't change very much... But I understand why you did, it's cool))
Minnie's eyes were big as she looked expectantly at her drama teacher.
"Well, it was well memorized, I'll give you that!" Sikowitz told her, smiling broadly but not very sincerely. "Would you like to come in tomorrow and try it again?"
"WHAT?! Try it again? Are you kidding me?! I mean... sorry, excuse me, but I've been working on that for days, hour after hour after hour! Why would you want me to do it again, that's the best I've ever done it! I know I'm not as good as everyone else, but for me, that was amazing." Minnie told him, crossing her arms and staring him down. She got very confused when he laughed and set down his clipboard.
"Most people go the other way around you know?" He said, Minnie just gave him a quizzical look, not understanding. "Most people do very well the first time but don't understand the reasoning behind the bird scene until much later. You got the concept the first time through, but then did a sub-par job on the monologue... You stood by your work because you knew that, for you at least, it was very good. I'm looking forward to seeing you at auditions Minnie." Sikowitz explained to her, then picked up a coconut off his desk and left the room. Minnie jaw dropped, then she squealed with delight and ran out of the classroom to go tell her friends.
She saw Andre first, he was just getting his stuff ready to go and closing his locker. She ran to him and threw her arms around his neck. When she released him, Minnie noticed the confused look on his face and quickly began to explain.
"I DID IT! I got the bird scence!" Minnie yelped. Andre's mouth formed into a wide grin and he grabbed her up in another hug and spun her around.
"Congratulations! That's awesome! Hey, I'll give you a ride home and we can talk about this semesters list of plays, I heard it's great!" Andre told her, taking her hand and walking towards the door. Minnie's face dropped when she registered what he'd just said.
"Now I have to audition too! I thought the bird scene was tough..." Minnie said in an exasperated tone, lamely trailing behind her friend.
