Name: Ganda Damini Quarrtulain (I go by my middle name though, everyone calls me Minnie)
Age/Grade: 17, Junior
Appearance: I'm pretty tall for a girl, about 5'9". I'm not exactly skinny, more lean and muscular, I have a dancer's body. My Mom is American and my Dad is Indian so I kind of have the best of both of them. Like I already said I've got my Mom's body, and my Dad's dark skin and dark hair and deep brown eyes. My hair is relatively long, but on normal days I always like to pull it back in a bun, but I also put different colored streaks in my bangs everyday. My wardrobe is kind of like my hair, almost always the same, flats, tights, shorts, and sweaters, but in different colors. I have a ton of ear piercings and even a tattoo. The tattoo is a broken heart that says "Without Dance" on the inside of it on the bottom of my foot.
About Myself: I'm very proud of my heritage, I know people can tell I'm Indian from my name, the way I look, and I do have a slight accent, so why try to hide it? I'm an only child so I'm extremely close with my parents, we do a lot of stuff together, buy they also let me hang out with my friends whenever I like, they know I won't make stupid decisions so they're very lenient when it comes to going out and such. The only thing that really contradicts that is the hair dye, my Mom is okay with it, but my Dad still thinks that I'm just showing off part of my culture when I wear a head scarf to school. He wouldn't be happy with me "Spraying graffiti on a beautiful monument" as he puts it when he sees people with un-natural hair. For some reason that is the only thing that bugs him, he loves to buy me new earrings and thought my idea for getting a tattoo was actually really cool...parents...
I like to think that I'm a very happy, nice, genuine person, and I hope others do too. I always try my best to smile at everyone and be polite, and do whatever I can to make someone's day better. I'm also very peppy, not crazy, it just feels better to be upbeat rather than in a crappy mood all the time. I do a lot of volunteering, mostly things with little children, that's how I got into babysitting too. My friends mean the world to me, I don't even know what I would do without them, I love them.
What brought me to Hollywood Arts: I've literally been dancing since I was two years old and haven't stopped once. Even when I'm not in one of my classes I'm dancing, making breakfast, in the car, through the hallways at school, grocery shopping, etc!
I wasn't even trying to get into Hollywood Arts, I hadn't even heard about at all. But at one of my dance recitals some of the faculty from the school came to watch to see if there was any new talent because they already had so many singers and actors. After the recital they came to talk to me backstage and said it was hard to not notice me because I was in practically all the dances, then they asked if I wanted to formally audition for Hollywood Arts! I agreed and I've been in since the ninth grade!
Something extra: Yes, I can dance, but that's about it. I can't sing, I can't play any instruments, and I can barely act. The time I've spent at the school have really helped with acting and I'm decent now, but everyone learned my first year that unless you want your ears to bleed you don't make me sing and you don't make me play.
